It's hump day!! That means spa day! Well for me anyway lol. Wednesdays are usually my self care days. Face masks, hair masks, all the masks really, maybe a little rosé. Yasss, please!!
Self care is crucial in my book, especially during times like these where some stress levels and anxiety levels might be at all time high. A little self care can go a long way. The best part is that whether you're in quarantine or not, you can do self care without leaving your home and spending little to zero money! Plus, self care can literally be soooo many different things!!
Take masks for example, do you know how many different kinds of mask are out there!? Face masks, hair masks, foot masks, hand masks, clay masks, moisturizing masks, relaxing masks, detoxing masks...I mean the list is endless! Those of you who never had time to do masks before, guess what? You got some time now!! Pick a mask and put it on while you sort through e-mails for 20 minutes. Depending on the mask it may only be 10 minutes!
Self care can also be reading your favorite book. During your break or your lunch, take 15 minutes and read. Self care can be going for a walk, or simply stretching. Do a little yoga or meditation before you log on to start your work day. Hell, it can even be washing your hair and shaving that day!
Here are some self care ideas, in case you can't think of any:
Yoga
Exercise
Zumba
Meditate
Try any mask
Go for a walk or jog
Stay hydrated
Read your favorite book
Draw or color
Dance in your living room
Write down 1 thing you're thankful for each day
Listen to your favorite podcast
Watch an episode of your favorite show
Take a longer shower/bath and use a bath bomb
Wash your hair
Shave
DIY mani/pedi(even if you just put clear polish on)
Make your favorite tea or coffee
Cook for favorite foods
Write down 1 thing you love about yourself
Listen to your favorite music
Light your favorite candle
Diffuse essential oils
Start a skincare routine
Buy new skincare products
Buy yourself that dress you've been eyeing
And so many more!!
There are so many ways to practice self care and self love. Whatever helps you relieve stress, do that. If cleaning helps you, then clean away. If curling up with a glass of wine and a good book helps you, then dedicate 15 minutes of your day to do just that!
One more thing, this goes for both men and women, don't ever feel guilty for practicing self care!! If you don't feel good you won't be in a good mood, and if you're not in a good mood no one will want to be around you. You're home all day so there's really no excuse now! You can practice self care in between e-mails and being a boss!!
What's your go to self care ritual?
