Work From Home & Stay Productive

Good morning beautiful people and happy Monday! I'm sure 90% of us are now working from home due to this corona virus situation. I personally love working from home. I really, just love it. I'm happier, more rested, and stress free!!

However, I realize that not everyone feels the same. Even though I don't understand why, I do understand that we're all different. So, I wanted to share with you all a few of my work from home tips for staying productive. Hopefully, something here can help you have a more enjoyable work from home experience.

Morning Routine

Alright, I think a great day all starts with a great morning. Whatever your usual morning routine was before you started working from home, stick with it! Just because you're working from home doesn't mean that your life is turned upside down. Have breakfast. Make your coffee or tea, do your skincare routine, walk the dog. Get up, shower, and get the crust out of your eyes!!

Organize Your Workspace

I know that I have OCD but, organization is a big one! Whether you have an actual home office or you're simply sitting at the kitchen counter with your laptop, make sure your workplace is organized. Organize your supplies and set them up however you want so that you can work with ease. Oh, and don't forget to make it yours!! Light your favorite candle or play some music if that helps you work.

Clutter Free

Ok, this one goes hand in hand with organization. Only keep work related items in or around your workspace. Moms, the play doh and legos go in the toy trunk not on your calendar. Having a clear workspace helps maintaining a clear mind. A clear mind can help you stay focused and productive.

Breaks

Yes, take breaks!! Working from home doesn't mean being glued to your computer screen for 8 hours straight. Take a break, walk around for a bit, and stay hydrated! Remember, you are not a machine and no one expects you to be!

Plan

Plan your day out. However you want your day to go, plan it that way. Maybe you want to review your calendar in the mornings and go through e-mails in the afternoons, or vice versa. No one does your job like you do and you're good at what you do. Prioritize your day and focus on the more important aspects early in your day. That way you're not stressing yourself at the end of the day over last minute fires that need to be put out.

Goals

Goals! Set daily or weekly goals for yourself! It can be how many e-mails you respond to. How many calls you return. Whatever works for you! Setting goals is a great way to see your achievements. Write them down and check them off as you complete them.

Get Dressed

I know, I know...pjs all day!! No, get dressed!! Even if it's simply leggings and a shirt, but change out of your pjs. You don't need to get dolled up(unless you want to, then by all means!) A shower and quick outfit change can totally uplift and energize your mood! So, maybe limit the all day pjs to just one day a week...say casual Friday lol? But do still change into some new pjs!

Let me know if any of these tips help you or if you have other tips, feel free to share them!

I hope you all have a kickass week!
